October 26th, Delegations from HongKong Huamao Group and University of Washington Visited Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The delegation from HongKong Huamao Group included Zhongxin Gong, the Executive Chairman of the Board and Marketing Manager, and Yinxin Gong, the Executive Chairman of the Board and Administration Manager. The delegation from University of Washington included Prof. Bruce Ransom, the Chair of Department of Neurology, and Dr. Jody Y. Li, Department of International Development. Zhaohui Wu, the President of Zhejiang University, Jianghong Luo, the Vice President of Zhejiang University, Meifeng Zhang, the assistant of the President, Ying Dang, the Vice Direcor of Office of Liaison, Mingfang Zhang, the Director of International Relations, Shumin Duan, the Dean of School of Medicine and Xiaoming Li, the Associate Dean of School of Medicine played host to the delegations.
Zhejiang University and University of Washington has built close communications and connections, and they showed their willingness to build cooperation after several exchange visits. Especially in the area of brain science research, the two parties expected to establish the Joint Brian Research Center of Zhejiang-Washington Universities to hopefully make full use of each other’s advantages in the area of brain science research and research talents cultivation, and consequently the common goal of building the first-class discipline and cultivating the first-class research talents will be achieved.
The center was planning to raise development fund from HongKong Huamao Group, and the money will be used to the building establishment and the following development of joint center. The two executive Chairman of the Board of HongKong Huamao Group listened to the preliminary building plan of the center and spoke highly of it.
