October 21, the delegation from University of California, Los Angeles, led by Prof. Eugene Washington, vice chancellor and dean of the David Geffen School of Medicine, paid a visit to Zhejiang University and was warmly welcomed by Prof. Yang Wei, President of ZJU. In the delegation there were Prof. Alan Robinson, executive associate dean; Prof. J. Thomas Rosenthal, chief medical officer; Prof. Ren Sun, associate dean for graduate studies; Prof. Leonard Rome, associate dean for research.
In the afternoon meeting of October 22, the two institutions discussed the development of ZJU-UCLA Joint Center for Medical Research and Education. The Joint Center signing ceremony was held in the lobby of School of Medicine. President Yang Wei and vice chancellor Eugene Washington signed the agreement and also gave a speech of the cooperation and friendship between ZJU and UCLA.
October 23, the delegation attended the 2010 Hangzhou International Medical Education Forum held by Zhejiang University. Prof. Eugene Washington and Prof. Alan Robinson gave presentations on the forum.
